The bazaar which lasted for two days was organized in the synergy of three female organizations within the Bali Provincial Government, namely the TP PKK Bali Province , Bali Province Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) and the Bali Province Women's Organization Cooperation Agency (BKOW).

Governor Koster assessed that this cheap market activity was a very positive thing because it aimed to help ease the burden on the community in the midst of the prolonged Covid-19 epidemic.

"What DWP has done in synergy with TP PKK and BKOW is a very good and positive thing," Koster said.

Apart from taking the right momentum ahead of the holiday, the Governor also appreciated the activities of the cheap market for providing clothing products in the form of Balinese weaving such as endek and songket.

According to him, this is in line with the Decree of the Governor of Bali Number 04 of 2021 concerning the Use of Balinese Endek Woven Fabrics / Balinese Traditional Woven Fabrics.

"I think this is very good, a form of siding with local Balinese products. In the future, I will continue to encourage craftsmen to be more active in production. On the other hand, we also encourage people to buy products produced by Balinese craftsmen," Koster  added.

As a form of support for MSME players who market Balinese woven fabrics on the cheap market, this three-term former member of the DPR RI bought shirts made from endek which were directly given to the OPD leaders who were present.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the TP PKK Bali Province TP PKK Putri Suastini Koster specifically expressed her gratitude to DWP and its ranks for having initiated the implementation of a cheap market to welcome Galungan and Kuningan holidays.

TP PKK Bali Province supports this cheap market event and hopes that its implementation can make it easier for employees in the Bali Provincial Government to get their needs before the holidays.

She invited employees within the Bali Provincial Government to buy necessities ahead of the holiday at the cheap market. On the sidelines of the review, Putri Koster also reminded traders not to use plastic bags to serve buyers.

The implementation of the low-cost market takes place with strict application of health protocols. Every visitor is required to wear a mask and keep a distance. In order not to cause crowds, the committee arranged a visiting schedule for each OPD.

Apart from selling basic necessities and offerings, the cheap market also provides clothing products in the form of traditional Balinese weaving, namely endek and songket. The employees in the Bali Provincial Government seem enthusiastic about buying necessities before the holidays such as leaflets, fruit and snacks to complement the offerings. (Gix)
