Cellular Data and IPTV Services Shut Down During Nyepi Day 2024

DENPASAR Balitopnews.com - Just like in previous years, Telecommunications Operators that provide cellular data and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services will be turned off during this Nyepi Day sakav year's 1946 Nyepi which will fall on Monday, March 11 2024.


This was conveyed by the Head of the Bali Province Communication, Informatics and Statistics Service, Gede Pramana in a press release, Friday (March 8 2024).


He said that this policy is a policy that is carried out every year by the Bali Provincial Government to support the implementation of the Nyepi Day so that it can run in a conducive, safe and comfortable manner. This decision was strengthened by the Circular Letter of the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2024 concerning an Appeal to Carry Out a Joint Call regarding the Implementation of the Series of Nyepi Holy Days of Silence for the New Year of Caka 1946 in the Province of Bali in 2024 on March 5 2024 as well as a Joint Call for Religious and Bali Province Religious Social Institutions in 2024 concerning the Implementation of the Series of Holy Nyepi Days for the Caka Year 1946 on February 2 2024.


The deactivation of cellular data and IPTV services will begin Monday morning until the following day. "Cellular service providers will turn off cellular data, IPTV and all television service providers including radio will not broadcast or distribute broadcasts from Monday 11 March 2024 at 06.00 WITA until Tuesday 12 March 2024 at 06.00 WITA," Gede Pramana. said . On the other hand, he added that services to vital objects such as hospital services, police stations, military, BMKG, BPBD, BASARNAS, airports, fire extinguishers and other public interest services which by their nature must continue/remain operational. Meanwhile, telephone, SMS and fiber optic services can still be used during the Nyepi holiday to make it easier for the public if during the Nyepi holiday they need services, especially emergency ones. This is done to avoid and/or ward off hoaxes and negative content. "I hope that Nyepi Day this year's  can be carried out in a conducive and safe manner," Gede Pramana  added.(Rls/Btnc)
