DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com – The Bali Province Dekranasda held a bag design competition made from woven raw materials at the Sarasehan Room, Ksirarnawa Building, Denpasar Cultural Park Art Center on Wednesday ( July 10, 2024) morning.
The Acting Chairperson of the Bali Province Dekranasda, Mrs. Drg. Ida Mahendra Jaya said that this woven bag design competition was a concrete manifestation of the efforts of the Bali Province Dekranasda in collaboration with the Bali Provincial Government to continue to encourage the creativity and innovation of woven craft craftsmen in Bali. "A woven bag is not only a product, but also a work of art that reflects Balinese culture and local wisdom," Ida Mahendra Jaya said.
Through this event, it is hoped that craftsmen and MSME/IKM players in Bali will be more enthusiastic in exploring various techniques and designs, so that they are able to produce products that are not only beautiful and unique, but also have high selling value in the national and international markets.
"I am very proud to see the enthusiasm and participation of craftsmen and MSMEs in taking part in this competition. "This shows that we have great potential to continue to develop and compete in the world of creative industries," She explained.
She hopes that Balinese woven crafts can continue to develop and be sustainable and can make a positive contribution to the progress of the creative economy in Bali Province.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Province Trade and Industry Service, I Wayan Jarta, in his report said that the 2024 woven craft competition was held as a competition for making handbags or women's bags for craftsmen and SMEs to encourage creativity and exploration of techniques and designs in the field of woven crafts in the Province. He added that the number of participants taking part in the competition reached 16 craftsmen and SMEs from districts/cities throughout Bali. “The Acting chairman of the Bali Province Dekranasda initiated it," Wayan Jarta said.

Based on the assessment results of the jury consisting of practitioners and academics, 1st place was obtained by IKM Rotenbi from Bangli Regency, 2nd place was obtained by IKM Feodora Bali from Gianyar Regency and 3rd place was obtained by Klaceng Handycraft from Buleleng Regency.
