DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Governor of Bali Wayan Koster emphasized the important role of the younger generation in maintaining the characteristics and identity of Balinese culture. He conveyed this when closing Balinese Language Month VII 2025 at the Art Center Denpasar, Saturday (March 1, 2025) "The next generation of Balinese must be strong with Balinese culture. It includes Balinese script, traditional clothing, local wisdom, and everything that reflects Bali. We must be proud of having a strong cultural heritage," Koster said at the Ksirarnawa Building.

He appreciated the participants who succeeded in becoming champions in the Bali Language Month competition and put on their best performances at the closing ceremony. " I appreciate the children who are champions. We all have to prepare the next generation so they can maintain and continue Balinese identity, character and cultural identity," he said

To strengthen cultural protection, Koster has issued various regulations, including Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning Strengthening and Promoting Balinese Culture and Governor's Regulation Number 80 of 2018 concerning the Protection and Use of Balinese Language, Script and Literature. He emphasized that culture must be present in people's daily lives, including the use of Balinese script in public facilities and awareness of traditional clothing. "Now it's not just Thursday, Purnama and Tilem, but on other important days, more and more people are wearing traditional Balinese clothing," he said. Koster emphasized that Balinese culture is the main force that must be maintained so that tourism survives. "Without culture, tourism does not exist. Let's work together to protect and care for Balinese culture amidst global developments and the digital era," Koster stressed. (Rls/Btnc)
